Cooking gives Stray Kids a language for describing music. In a June 2020 GRAMMY.com interview, Bang Chan explained the double meaning of God’s Menu: a divine menu and a new menu. Making something new in the kitchen offered an image for the group’s creative process.[4]
The food connection has a domestic scale as well. In the same dated interview, Felix remembered eating together during the trainee years and described cooking for the team and baking brownies. Those memories explain a relationship with preparing food; they do not supply a current list of the members’ favorite dishes.[4]
A menu is also an arrangement of differences. A diner notices a springy noodle beside a soft vegetable, a warm main beside a cool accompaniment, and a plate to share beside an individual bowl. That makes cooking a useful comparison for combining distinct contributions. It is an interpretation of the metaphor, not a claim that the song encodes a particular recipe or assigns one ingredient to each member.
Cooking, shared meals and the limits of the record
The interview is the source for the cooking story. Later business announcements answer different questions: JYP’s 2024 note records early renewal; the RUN IT page names a 2026 release and tour; the 2027 Season’s Greetings notice concerns merchandise. These records should not be exchanged for an invented farewell announcement or a private menu.[1][2][3]
A shared meal gives the metaphor an ordinary foundation: somebody prepares food, somebody helps serve it, and others bring their attention to the table. That comparison does not turn a dinner into evidence about contracts.
The following food ideas are ways to explore that cooking metaphor. They are not dishes endorsed by the group or a reconstruction of their dorm menu.
Build a real meal without inventing a celebrity menu
Start with the number of diners and the serving arrangement. At a Korean table, distinguish a shared platter from an individual bowl before ordering more. That practical question tells you more about the meal than an unverified celebrity recommendation.
Look for contrast rather than quantity alone. A warm rice bowl, a main preparation and small accompaniments can offer different temperatures, textures and intensities. Choose what suits the people eating, including their dietary needs.
